The all weather Wells!
Tribal part of the Udaipur city heavily relies upon the animal husbandry and farming. Both these are also base of lives across the globe. But both these need one common natural resource called Water. In and around the Udaipur, the irrigation remains the main challenge among all tribal parts and villages. The situation in remote villages has been more worrisome as they solely depend on rain water which is so unpredictable even in monsoon months. So most of these villagers had to migrate to places where they had enough water availability for irrigation and husbandry. Some migrate to Udaipur city and start trivial jobs where in their farms they have been owners.
Government realized the problem of migration of people and has devised many sources like wells and canals. The idea of deepening of existing wells and digging more in these areas has gone well and has been a successful endeavor and now villages have become independent.
Few of them have even flourished with the yearlong supply of water. Pratapgarh near Udaipur has been the area where many tribal places had great depletion of water but various government schemes have benefited such areas and now irrigation is in full swing so is growth of crops.
And then there are also some exemplary villages that took the onus of arranging for their water needs by themselves. Peepal Khoont is one such Panchayat Samiti of Udaipur district where systematically wells were dug and shaped properly at the farms so that direct irrigation could be done. Having wells in the farm reduced efforts and power to transport the water to the farm and crops.
Having their own wells, villagers and farmers do not have to walk miles for drinking water for people and animals. Husbandry has also grown significantly due to these wells.
Farmers earlier had to wait for monsoon for a crop but now they have the option to grow something or other in all weathers, obviously this has improved their financial positions and additional crops have allowed the market to have lowered rated stuff like vegetables and fruits.
Animals get yearlong food and that’s why they provide more milk than ever.
